A lettings agent has called for longer tenancy deals for renters after the latest figures show Worthing has one of the highest proportions of rented households in the UK.Letting Agents Clapham
The statistic, released this month, was part of a report compiled by Shelter using information from the 2011 census.
It shows Worthing as having 9,102 rented properties – a proportion of nearly a fifth and a 61 per cent increase on the 2001 census data.

The number of households with mortgages is also down 12 per cent, in line with national trends.
As a result of the growing rental sector longer tenancy contracts of around five years to provide more security.
